Steuben County has a total of 189 COVID-19 positive cases, 127 individuals considered recovered and 3 deaths associated with COVID-19. From yesterday, an increase of five (5) COVID-19 positive cases were documented for Steuben County, Indiana.
The Steuben County Health Officer has signed a public health order restricting indoor visitation at long term care facilities in Steuben County, IN. This public health order will take effect upon signing by the Health Officer. This decision was made in the interest of public health and safety for the visitors and employees that work at long term care facilities in Steuben County. The decision to rescind the public health order will be made by the health officer based on data collected by the health department. The full public health order will be available on the Steuben County Health Department’s web page located under the documents tab.
A social gathering with more than 250 individuals including staff and attendees must submit a plan to the Steuben County Health Department for review, comments and approval. Governor Holcomb’s executive order 20-36 details what information should be include in the plan submitted to the health department. The Steuben County Health Department has created a checklist on the contents of the plan. It can be found under the documents tab on the Steuben County Health Departments web page under COVID-19 social gatherings.
The Indiana Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA) has launch a mental health service line “Be Well Crisis Helpline” by dialing 2-1-1 and selecting option 3 while on the call. This is easy and free option to speak with a counselor. The counselors have been trained in crisis management, especially in regards to the COVID-19 pandemic and the changes that individuals have faced.
