Public Input Meetings
Steuben County is starting the process of updating its 2006 comprehensive plan. The first step in the process is a public input meeting which will be held on Thursday, April 30th at 12:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room in the Community Center (317 S. Wayne Street, Angola). The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the future of the county and to identify ways to improve the existing Steuben County Comprehensive Plan. Particularly, the county is seeking concerns, hopes, and ideas related to future growth, economic development, transportation, the natural environment, and quality-of-life.
The meeting is open to all interested county residents and businesses and will last approximately one hour. County leaders and the county's consultant will use the information gathered to identify areas of the existing Comprehensive Plan that need to be amended or improved upon. You can request a copy of the existing Steuben County Comprehensive Plan by emailing Vina Conti at email@example.com. Input from the public is important for a successful update to the comprehensive plan, so please attend. The county would also appreciate your help in spreading the word about this invitation to participate.
A professional planning firm will facilitate the meeting and will prepare the updates to the Steuben County Comprehensive Plan. For more information, contact Frank Charlton or Vina Conti, at 260-668-1000 Ext 1600.
You only need to attend one of the two meeting times offered because they will each be the same. If you cannot attend either meeting time you may submit your input via email prior to Friday April 30th at 4:00 p.m.
